WELCOME

I am an artist and historic buildings architect exploring my lifelong love of the Welsh landscape and its historic buildings and structures - particularly those which are derelict, in decline or under threat. I am fascinated by abandonment and decay, how structures undergo dramatic transformation as they deteriorate; how nature regains a foothold in a fight for survival against humans’ attempts to dominate it.

I explore and communicate the engaging qualities of these forgotten places, their dramatic atmosphere and character.

The work usually combines a mixture of ‘free’ fluid techniques with more analytic and representational drawing - working mainly on paper or on canvas - reflecting on themes of struggle and mortality………. of hope, resurgence and transformation.
